Description:

Spend the day testing gemstones, bliss!

Work your way through gemstones in all the colours of the rainbow, from simple sapphire to tricky tugtupite, there will be a range of gems to suit all abilities, including mounted gemstones.

We don’t often get time to just sit and practice, whether that is for pleasure or to check our skills.

This is what you get to do here, under the expert hand of Kerry Gregory, giving you all the hints, hacks and tips you need to identify robustly and efficiently.

You can even take a mini test at the end if you want to prove you can do it!

Speaker: Kerry Gregory FGA, DGA, EG, GG (GIA) of Gemmology Rocks

Kerry Gregory is a gemmologist through and through – it’s her career, passion and favourite pastime. She spends her time exploring, questioning and sharing gemmology in ways that are fun, practical and engaging. Outside the world of gemstones, she enjoys good wine, great food, close friends and the occasional pub quiz.

Known for her fast-paced, humorous presentations and hands-on approach, Kerry delivers practical gemmology that gets straight to the point for business professionals.
She has presented workshops and lectures for organisations including the National Association of Jewellers (UK), the National Association of Jewellery Appraisers, the American Gem Trade Association and Gemworld International, and has published numerous articles on practical gemmology in both UK and US publications.

A former long-term tutor and Head of ATC for Gem-A, Kerry has served on the Gem-A Board and led one of its UK branches. She is currently a Trustee of the Silversmiths and Jewellers Charity (UK), a key contributor to the NAJ Professional Trade Standards Committee, and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and the City of London.
